#awesomeday

Writer: Janet PearsonJanet Pearson

I've been starting my day out with some EFT tapping lately, trying to help the world process some of this emotional pain that is getting over-bearing. It's been awhile since I tapped, and I rediscovered Brad Yates' videos. He's got one for pretty much everything. So I happened upon one this morning designed to help us have an Awesome Day. Four minutes. Not a big investment. Couldn't hurt . . .

By lunch time I wasn't feeling much awesomeness to my day. By mid-afternoon I wasn't into this day at all. But then I decided to do something I'd been thinking about, but hadn't gotten around to yet.

There is this beautiful little pool right off the river that I walk past most days. It's hard to tell from the photo, but it's deep enough to go in. Fresh river water in spring! So I stripped down and awkwardly dunked myself in the water, head and all. Wow! That was refreshing . . . but as soon as I got out, I wanted to go back in again. By this time, the water was all murky and not so inviting. So I grabbed my stuff and went bare foot through the forest to the next dunking place.

This one was an easier walk-in, but was also quite shallow. I had to go almost to the river's edge to be able to dunk my head completely. It worked this time. All the cobwebs were chilled out of my brain and I felt new again.

I walk these woods most days, sometimes so caught up in myself that I barely even notice the beauty. But today was different. I'll remember today. In the morning I was waiting for an awesome day to present itself to me. By the afternoon, I discovered that it's actually up to me. #awesomeday

Feel free to try Brad's video and comment on what happened for your Awesome Day.
